THE HEALTH CAPTAINS CLUB Key Mission is to Hand over the Leadership of our Institution and Ecosystem together with our Values, our Vision & Mission, our Knowledge, our Networks and our Leadership towards the Next Generations to support them starting at early stage with multi-professional and international Mentorship for becoming a motivated value-based Next Generation Leader and Health Captain.

“HEALTH CAPTAINS” are anchored in two historic Island Leadership Academy Role Models – for “HEALTH” on Kos Island in the Mediterranean Sea of Greece  – Home of Hippocratic of Kos = “The Father of Medicine and Health” – and for “CAPTAINS” on Föhr Island in the Worldheritage Wadden Sea in the North Sea next to Denmark – Headquarter of the historic North Frisian Captain Schools on Föhr Island, Amrum Island, Sylt Island and the Halligen .

Both unique historical Insular Leadership Academies are based on the obligation to pass on comprehensive Knowledge, Values and Leadership from Generation to Generation – this is the core of our philosophy to successfully follow both role models for the Future of Medicine towards sustainable Health for All: One Health Lifecare. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Hippocrates of Kos was a Greek Physician and Philiosopher who is considered one of the most outstanding figures in the History of Medicine. He is traditionally referred to as the “Father of Medicine” in recognition of his lasting contributions to the field, such as the use of Prognosis and Clinical Observation, the systematic categorization of Diseases. His studies set out the basic ideas of modern-day specialties, including Surgery, Urology, Neurology, Acute Medicine and Orthopedics. “The Father of Medicine” Hippokrates of Kos is the ancient Health Captain who started with the Hippocratic Medical School on Kos Island modern Medicine.

The Hippocratic School of Medicine revolutionized ancient european Medicine, establishing it as a discipline distinct from other fields with which it had traditionally been associated, e.g. Philisophy, thus establishing medicine as a profession. He is also credited with greatly advancing the systematic study of Clinical Medicine, summing up the medical knowledge of previous schools, and prescribing practices for physicians through the Hippocratic Corpus and other works.

The Hippocratic Corpus (Corpus Hippocraticum), is a collection of around 60 early Ancient Greek medical works strongly associated with the Physician Hippocrates of Kos = “The Father of Hippocrates” and his teachings. The Hippocratic Corpus covers many diverse aspects of medicine, from Hippocrates’ medical theories to what he devised to be ethical means of medical practice, to addressing various illnesses.

The Hippocratic Oath – “First, do no harm” invented by Hippocrates of Kos and his Successors is perhaps the most widely known of Greek medical texts. It requires a new physician to swear upon a number of healing gods that he will uphold a number of professional ethical standards. It also strongly binds the student to his teacher and the greater community of physicians with responsibilities similar to that of a family member. His Hippocratic Fundament for Medicine 2.500 Years ago gives us still today Orientation in the complex Transformation of Medicine from “SickCare” in Silos towards “LifeCare” in scaleable Ecosystem: The Hippocratic Oath needs now an Update as a new global next generation “HIPPOCRATIC HEALTH CAPTAINS OATH” – your Input for “Leadership for Exploring sustainable Health” towards sustainable Lifecare is welcome.

THE HEALTH CAPTAINS CLUB started in 2024 to work on interacting with The International Hippocratic Foundation of Kos as global Brainpool of Health Captains to bring the traditional Hippocratic oath for Medical Doctors towards a new 360º Hippocratic Health Captains Oath integrating the focus on sustainable Medicine for sustainable Health:

In the long term we are planing a Young Leader Forum and yearly Symposium on the Greek Island Kos supported by a Brainpool of Chief Medical Officers as Mentors to take action and to create an continious “Software like update Process” for the new Hippocratic Health Captains Oath for Europe and beyond.

The Medical School of Hippocrates of Kos was started about 2.500 Years ago. This is the right historic place to think and act towards global sustainable Medicine for sustainable Health together. We partner with the International Hippocratic Foundation on Kos Island to build an International Alliance.

“The Health Captains Think Tank”, founded by the Medical Doctor Henri Michael von Blanquet, MD, PhD, MaHM, started in 2003 on the Captains Island Föhr in the North Sea and is based on the famous historic Captain Schools on the Island from the 16th to 18th Century as “Private Next Generation Captains Leadership Academy” with an Output >2.000 Captains on Föhr Island, Amrum Island, Sylt Island and the Halligen – with the Outbreak of #COVID19 in 2020 the Founder and the supporting Health Captains decided adhoc together to transform the longterm Think Tank towards an multi-professional, multi-generational, multi-stakeholder and “silo free” international 360º-Business Club for Medicine, Health Sciences, Health Providers, Health Insurers, Health Industry, Health Services and Health Policy for Professionals, Entrepreneurs, Investors, Students & PhD´s, Scientific and Concerned Citizens and everybody who is inspired  to be from now on his own Health Captain as CEO of his own Health: “Health is a responsibility of the entire Society and inside the Society a Key Responsibility of the Regional, National and International Leadership to interact for sustainable Medicine for sustainable Health”:

In the spirit of the Founder of the Föhr Captains Navigation Schools, Pastor Richardus Petri at the St. Laurentii Church in Süderende on Föhr, who served as pastor on Föhr from 1620 until his death in 1678, the actions of THE HEALTH CAPTAINS CLUB are intended to take up the cross-generational non-profit system for Leadership Academies developed by Petri and, among other things, in the spirit of the “6th Kondratieff Cycle”, transfer “health” in a holistic sense – physical, mental, spiritual, ecological and social – to the leadership role of “Health Captains”.
